Other factors that may delay your order are severe weather or other emergency situations, issues with billing and shipping address not matching what is on file with the payment used, and security flags received from the bank or credit card company requiring us to confirm information before completing the shipment.

We want to give you the best possible shopping experience. We know processing and transit time is a big part of that, so we are constantly reviewing and updating our process to make it better and quicker to get orders shipped and delivered.

We do not accept cancellations, returns or exchanges for change of mind (please consider using our Sample Service to be certain of your perfume choice). However, if any of the items sent do not conform to your order, or should the items be defective, they will be replaced and the return costs will be paid by Abel.  For any questions or concerns, please contact info@abelodor.com and follow the steps below:

Step 1: Email the Abel customer care team at us.service@abelodor.com within 10 days of receiving your order. In your email, include your order number, item(s) you wish to return and the reason for the return (incorrect item received or damaged/defective item). We will then issue you a returns label.

Step 2:

Please wait for a confirmation from our customer service team. Once we receive the goods for inspection, it takes 2-3 business days for a refund to be issued to the original form of payment. Once approved, we will issue your refund or dispatch your replacement item. We will notify you once the refund transaction or replacement dispatch has taken place. Please be aware that your local bank may take up to 3-5 working days to receive any refunds.

Our fragrances are made with 100% natural, plant derived ingredients that are readily biodegradable in our ecosystem. Our fragrances are vegan, cruelty free and all ingredients are ethically sourced. Because we believe in full transparency, see here the ingredients list for each fragrance.

I can’t decide on which perfume, can I try first? Absolutely!  We always recommend trying on your skin first. Our sample service is the perfect way to test three fragrances from the comfort of your home. Need help choosing? check out our Perfume Guide.

Are there fragrances in the collection which are more masculine/feminine? The whole collection is gender-neutral. If you are looking for a more traditionally feminine fragrance, we recommend Pink Iris. Cyan Nori and Green Cedar are extremely gender-neutral.

How concentrated are your perfumes? Each Eau de Parfum has a minimum of 15% pure perfume oils. Extrait is 25% concentrate.

Can you layer Abel perfume? Yes indeed… all our perfumes share the same DNA which makes them great for layering, you really can’t go wrong.  You can find our favourite combinations here.

Are your perfumes actually 100% natural? Yes. Creating natural perfume that is chic, modern and long-lasting is our raison d’etre. We use a highly concentrated formula of plant-derived natural oils, concretes and isolates, set in a food-grade (non-denatured), organic alcohol base.

What is an INCI list? You’ll find INCI ingredients on the bottom of our perfume boxes. These aren’t our actual ingredients (e.g. what we ‘add’ to the fragrance) but a regulatory requirement to declare any compounds in the overall fragrance formula (which are naturally occurring) that are potentially allergenic. So unless you have sensitivities, you needn’t worry about the INCI list. You can find the full list of ingredients used for each fragrance on our website.

Why is there sediment in my perfume? Like a natural wine, we choose not to filter our fragrances, either with a physical membrane filter (which dilutes and changes the profile of our fragrances), or with chemical filters. Sometimes sediment can develop after an amount of time in the bottle. It’s nothing of concern and doesn’t impact the shelf life of the perfume nor the fragrance profile, it’s just a natural reaction that has taken place.

Does a 100% natural perfume stay on your skin? Yes. We have worked hard to ensure our perfumes do last on your skin. However, some fragrances last longer than others. I.e. Golden Neroli is a citrus floral that dissipates more quickly than the others. Pink Iris is a denser floral musk and has surprising staying power. Cobalt Amber is also a longer-lasting option.

How can I make the perfume last longer? Moisturising (with a fragrance-free cream or oil) before you apply your perfume as the drier your skin, the more quickly it will absorb the fragrance oils. Perfume applied to your hair and/or clothes will last longer than perfume applied to your skin. Applying to pulse points will also help warm and develop the scent. Just remember, when applied near your nose (i.e. your neck), you become desensitised quickly from the constant smell, so although others will smell your perfume, you won’t.

Why should I choose a natural perfume like Abel? If you care about the environment, those around you, and your own health, then Abel is a beautiful, safe alternative to the largely synthetic fragrances available on the market. Most synthetic aroma molecules are synthesized from crude oil, a non-renewable resource. Some of these molecules are non-biodegradable and accumulate in the food chain, environment and our bodies. Are your products vegan? Yes, indeed. Our fragrances do not contain any ingredients from animal origin, nor are they tested on animals. We are vegan certified.

What is the shelf life for Extrait? Because Extrait is alcohol-free (unlike our Eau de Parfum) it’s base (triethyl citrate) doesn’t have the same preservative qualities. And because Extrait is such an intimate application, directly on the skin, there’s a little more potential for cross-contamination.

What does functional fragrance mean? Functional really just means that beyond the beauty of the ingredients there’s also a functional reason for them being in the fragrance.

I tried to use my sample service coupon, but didn’t work? Please check you are using the coupon code for the correct purpose. Your coupon is single-use and only valid on the purchase of a 30mL, 50ML or 100mL bottles. It is valid for one month from purchase, so do make sure it’s not expired.  Still having trouble? Can I wear Pause even though I am not going through perimenopause?
Absolutely. Just like all our scents, the number one thing is a beautiful scent for you to fall in love with and make your own. We’re already seeing the Pause scent connecting women, men, and non-binary of all ages and life stages.

What will Pause do for my hormones?
The hero ingredient, Mimosa was chosen because it is mood-stabilizing. Violet leaf relieves stress, Narcissus promotes sleep, and Hay, tranquillity. Pause is definitely not a medicine but the ingredients chosen have rich histories in Eastern and Western medicine for their therapeutic value and were chosen for their impact on hormonal harmony as well as their beautiful scent profile.
